Caydi Dommeyer

Founder, Director, & Teacher

Caydi Dommeyer is an outdoor educator dedicated to helping children connect deeply with the natural world. Raised in the mountains near Santa Barbara, she developed a lifelong love of nature that inspires her work in early childhood education.

Over the past nine years, Caydi has held diverse roles in outdoor education—from farm-camp counselor and garden educator to lead forest school teacher. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies with an emphasis on food systems and a minor in Visual and Public Art from California State University, Monterey Bay. Her studies, along with training in Environmental Horticulture, Early Childhood Education, and a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, continue to shape her holistic approach to teaching and wellness.

Caydi’s experience includes leading programs at Fairview Gardens, Explore Ecology, and A Thousand Mornings Forest School. She now serves as Founder and Director of Tiny Seeds Forest School, where her vision of nature-based, child-centered learning comes to life. Through Tiny Seeds, Caydi fosters curiosity, creativity, and care for the earth in future generations.


Lauren Bartoo

Lauren Bartoo brings experience and care in special education to Tiny Seeds. She is passionate about creating spaces where every child feels included, valued, and capable of thriving. Having grown up in Lake Tahoe, Lauren weaves nature exploration, movement, and play into her teaching, helping children feel at home in the forest while building resilience and creativity.

As both an educator and a mother, Lauren understands the joys and challenges of early childhood. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in special education, continuing her own journey of growth and deepening her commitment to children and families.


April Brown

April Brown is a compassionate educator who has spent years working in elementary schools and leading after-school programs. She loves bringing creativity and imagination into her teaching, inspiring children to express themselves and discover the magic of the natural world. With a background in the arts and a passion for storytelling, April encourages children to learn, connect, and grow together in meaningful ways. She is dedicated to cultivating a culture of kindness and curiosity at Tiny Seeds, where children are invited to notice life’s small wonders and trust in their own voices.

Outside the classroom, April has worked as a lifeguard and is also a sound healer. These experiences give her a unique perspective on safety, presence, and well-being, which she weaves into her teaching. Whether through story, play, or sound, April creates spaces where children feel both cared for and free to explore who they are.
